Everfree Tales

Well one entry at the 11th hour gives ExTecha another slot, and the ability to pick this months topic. For now we'll leave off the time and just see how many we get or don't get this month.

So this month, write a story about a character of yours confronting the Nightmare entity (as in Nightmare Moon) who it takes hold of is entirely up to you, if it even takes hold of anybody. I hope people manage to have fun with this one.

Renew walked through the Everfree forest,looking for healing herbs. Aside from antibiotics medicines weren't something that she used often, but she'd recently run into a zebra that told her that there was a plant in here that would help sooth burns and the doctor knew that it would be a huge help to her patients to be able to get some relief while an assistant cleaned the burn before she could graft a covering for it. The ship she'd had been traveling in was docked nearby to resupply in Ponyville and she figured that a walk in the forest would help her rewind.

It wasn't the most inviting place, but she'd been to uninviting places before and allowing herself to be focused on the trail and looking for herbs helped her to relax in one way. The odd thing was that she felt that she was being followed. She shrugged it off and kept on walking.

A shadow darted around in the back, but never showed itself to the EMP walking through the forest. It waited until she was close to the herb and then moved behind it, adding a backdrop to it that made the plant with purple leaves stand out.

Renew went up to the plant, a little surprised at the black mist, but she'd heard odd things about the forest before and figured it was normal as she picked as much as she figured she needed. Just as she was about to speak a booming voice came from the mist. "Your sister misses you."
